Welcome

The Tittabawassee River Conservation Program offers payment to qualifying land owners who have property within the eight-year floodplain and whose land will be evaluated for cleanup. The intent of the Conservation Program is to facilitate cleanup activities where required and to preserve the natural features of the river and floodplain.

Background

Dow and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have an agreement to address historic dioxin contamination in frequently flooded areas in the eight-year floodplain along the Tittabawassee River downstream from Midland.

Dow and EPA are following a systematic process, working segment-by-segment from upstream to downstream, to conduct voluntary cleanup activities.
